Project overview
Following the success of Phase 1 which saw Meristem install 109 SuDS planters across 14 schools, additional funding has enabled Phase 2 which includes expanding sustainable water management solutions to 18 more schools across Newham. Working in collaboration with Newham Council and supported by the DfE, the school SuDS scheme continues to enhance flood resilience, biodiversity and environmental education.

Goal
To further reduce flood risk, promote urban cooling, and enhance sustainability education by expanding the installation of SuDS planters with edible planting that capture, store, and filter rainwater in Newham schools. This phase builds on the first project’s success, ensuring more schools benefit from nature based solutions.
