Parklets

Repurposing streets for greener communities

Parklets help transform streets from car-dominated environments into welcoming spaces for people. By repurposing parking spaces, these impactful installations create places where communities can sit, relax and connect with their surroundings.

Designed to encourage active travel, improve air quality and make streets greener, parklets can incorporate seating, tables, planters, green roofs, bike parking and lighting. Each parklet is carefully designed to reflect the character of its location while providing a practical and attractive public space.

Suitable for high streets, neighbourhood centres, hospitality settings and public realm projects, parklets create flexible spaces that support local businesses, encourage social interaction and bring nature closer to everyday urban life.

Available in a variety of RAL colours, timber and durable powder-coated steel.

Benefits of parklets

As well as providing new accessible public spaces, parklets and green street furniture help boost biodiversity and create areas of interest and interaction. Bringing a host of benefits, they contribute to improving mental and physical health and enhance the local environment.

Improves air quality

Creating pockets of green within urban areas helps combat air pollution, contributing to healthier neighbourhoods. By converting parking spaces, this can help reduce the number of cars on the road and improve air quality.

Supports local businesses

Parklets provide more space for outdoor seating and tables, which can encourage more visitors and increase footfall. Providing an attractive social area can boost trade and revenue.

Encourages active travel

By transforming parking spaces, parklets promote a more car-free culture and help encourage more active modes of transport such as cycling and walking.

Brings people together

Helping to create community hubs, parklets create vibrant spaces for local people. With many residents in urban areas lacking outdoor space, parklets and street furniture provide them with an opportunity to socialise while enjoying nature.

Local authorities

Parklets help local authorities transform underused parking bays and roadside spaces into vibrant public places. By creating areas for seating, planting and social interaction, they encourage pedestrian activity, support local high streets and contribute to greener, more people-focused neighbourhoods.

Education

Parklets can provide schools and colleges with flexible outdoor spaces where students can gather, relax and learn. They can also support safer and more organised drop-off and pick-up areas while introducing greenery that improves wellbeing and outdoor engagement.

BIDs

Parklets help Business Improvement Districts create attractive and welcoming public spaces that encourage people to spend more time in the area. By providing seating, greenery and social spaces, they help strengthen local identity, support collaboration between businesses and increase visitor footfall.

Commercial

For businesses and hospitality venues, well-designed parklets attract foot traffic by creating comfortable. inviting and visually appealing public spaces. They encourage customers to linger, boosting sales and improving the look and feel of the area while enhancing their outside space.
