Fitzpark - The latest Parklet to hit the Streets

Meristem Design have installed a Parklet on the corner of Warren and Fitzroy Street as part of the cleaner air initiative by The Fitzrovia Partnership BID.

The official opening of the permanent Parklet was launched on November 1st by local Councillor, Adam Harrison who said after the ribbon cutting "Fitzrovia is my local ward and I am delighted to have this vibrant colourful Parklet to enhance the area".

The installation consists of four large planters, two areas of seating providing space for six people, and finally 4 smaller lower level planters and two wooden chairs. A selection of evergreen shrubs and seasonal planting was used to create year-round interest. The plants were specifically chosen to help with air pollution and to attract bees.

Local residents and restaurant owners had positive comments about the seating and planters, saying it gave life to the street. As soon as the installation was finished many people sat on the seats provided and ate their lunch outside.

Lee Lyons - Chief Operating Office of The Fitzrovia Partnership said "It took us almost 18 months to get the Parklet installed on Fitzroy Street, now it's in it was worth the wait. I look forward to more Parklets across Fitzrovia"
