Olympic Park Rain Gardens

With the development of the local area for the Olympics almost 10 years ago, the borough continues to further enhance the area with parkland, leisure activities, cycle paths and walking trails, many lined with rain gardens featuring a variety of plant species. These are key features as land is developed, reducing standing water and retaining the rainfall to the benefit of the local area. These particular rain gardens also act as an important corridor for biodiversity, built in the centre of what used to be a road, now pedestrianised to reduce traffic and pollution.
