Anyone who is familiar with Meristem Design will already know that we are the UK’s leading supplier of On-Street Parklets, with 40 installed last year.
However, following the recent COVID crisis we have been asked to adapt our new range of Parklets to allow cafes, bars and restaurants to use road space for outdoor dining.
The new Parklet features provide decking space for the business owners to use their own tables and chairs during the day with segregated zones for each groups of users. They are segregated using 5mm acrylic sheeting sandwiched between our Living Green Screens, thereby providing protection and greenery at the same time.
We can also design in booths with seating and tables for groups of *friends and families to reserve.
Our 10m x 2m Parklet can cater for up to 30 customers at a time, however this would involve giving up 2 car parking spaces.
Most London councils we have spoken to are very positive about the change of use from car parking to seating and planting. We already have orders for the COVID Parklets from London councils.
We really hope our Parklets will help bring businesses and customers back to our local high streets.
