Gladstone Parklet Project - A beautiful example of how nature can be brought into the daily lives of all Londoners.
Haringey’s first official Parklet was installed in the past few weeks in partnership with Haringey Council, GrowN22 and is supported by the Mayor of London Grow Back Greener fund.

Residents, neighbours and primary school children joined together to plant up the custom planters which were provided by Meristem Design. The local community are central to the creation of the Parklet, as well as its ongoing maintenance. The parklet is also planned to be integrated into a School Streets scheme around Noel Park Primary School.
The Gladstone Parklet is located at the intersection of Gladstone Avenue and Vincent Road and is opposite Noel Park Primary School. This unused section of road has been transformed into a community-led space for people to connect with nature. It is a beautiful example of how nature can be brought into the daily lives of all Londoners.
The neighbourhood Parklet has cycle lanes, improved drainage, seating, mobility access as well as loads of pollinating plants and trees. It also contains a time capsule, CCTV and an area depaved for wildflowers and herbs for locals to pick at their leisure.
The new community space will accommodate community events and workshops hosted by GrowN22, as well as being a space for rest, relaxation and exploration for people of all ages. The workshops will be a chance for the whole community to learn about food growing, biodiversity monitoring, plant identification and routine maintenance activities.
The Grow Back Greener Fund which helped make this project possible, supports London's communities to create and enhance green space and increase climate resilience. The fund will prioritise projects in areas of the city where Londoners live further than a 10-minute walk from green space, at high climate risk and in areas of deprivation.
