Marylebone LEN Community Street Party

Marylebone LEN Community Street Party

Last Thursday Luxborough Street was temporarily closed to traffic for the Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood (LEN) Community Street Party.

We were joined in the sun by Dr. Bike cycle checks, Sustrans with their pedal powered tunes, face painting, air quality activities and information about other Low Emission Neighbourhood plans.

4 Hammersmith Parklets Launched this week!

4 Hammersmith Parklets Launched this week!

This week we launched 4 of our new community Parklets on Hammersmith Grove, 2 of them even had 3m high Green Pergolas.

Combining trees and plants with wooden benches and cycle parking, these 4 10m by 2.5m Parklets are designed to encourage cycling, improve air quality and make the street greener for residents, shoppers and businesses. They’re also part of a borough-wide plan to support and encourage biodiversity in the area.

Our Community Parklet Shortlisted for the London Sustainabilty Awards 2018

The Sustainable City Awards celebrate the best examples of innovation and good practice, for a smarter, healthier and more environmentally friendly world.

It is an amazing organisation and the award received a huge amount of entries so we're delighted our Community Parklet has been shortlisted to the last 4.

Marylebone Car Free Street Party

Over a hundred school children from Halcyon School enjoyed some amazing BMX skills, a bicycle smoothie and music powered by pedals during Marylebone car free day, hosted by Marylebone LEN and Sustrans.

The focus of the day was sustainability, air quality, helping the locals reclaim the street and to encourage cycling and walking.

We were delighted our Parklet was well used and helped turn the grey street to green. The day promoted social interaction, while showing what you can do with the absence of cars.

Are you planning a car free event or want to hire our Parklet for the day? Call us!

Petrol and diesel cars set to be banned in East London. Do you agree?

We were happy to see our Parklet and tree planters featuring in the Evening Standards article  on Ultra Low Emission Zones. http://bit.ly/2nvrGyC

Petrol and diesel cars are set to be banned in parts of east London under plans that could see motorists fined more than £100 for breaking the rules. Hackney and Islington councils are consulting on a scheme to ban petrol, diesel and older hybrid vehicles from entering nine streets in Hoxton and Shoreditch.

Pedestrians and cyclists would have access to the zones, in addition to ultra-low emission vehicles including electric cars, e-bikes, the newest hybrids and hydrogen vehicles.

It is hoped the plans will bring reduced levels of air and noise pollution and improved surroundings for local residents and businesses.

Fingers crossed this means more urban greening!
