Penarth Parklets, Vale of Glamorgan

The Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales now has 6 on street Parklets, all with a green roof covering the decked seating area below.  The Parklets also incorporate toughened glass sections all round to provide some wind and rain protection.

The green roof is expected to absorb up to 80% of a typical rain shower, with the excess water running down our custom-made drains into the planters below.

This unique feature of the Parklets not only provides rain protection, but the sedum green roof also provides an excellent home for biodiversity, attracting pollinating insects and wildlife.

Viewed from above, the Parklets resemble mini gardens, an attractive feature to any high street.

In addition to the green roof and glass sides, we are working with the owners to provide lighting inside the Parklets using overhead power cables from adjoining buildings.  This will allow the businesses to provide evening entertainment for their customers in an attractive outdoor space.
