Brooke Road Junction Rain Garden

Transforming Brooke Road Junction Rain Garden Hackney

The Brooke Road Junction rain garden transformed a previously traffic-dominated junction into a permanent green space in the London Borough of Hackney. Delivered in collaboration with Hackney Council, the scheme has replaced temporary traffic management planters with rain gardens that create a more welcoming environment for residents.

Meristem Design were responsible for designing and delivering a colour-coded planting scheme that included over 730 perennials, shrubs and grasses. The planting was designed to provide visual interest while supporting biodiversity and creating a space for the local community to enjoy and interact with.
