The goal of the initiative was to refresh and revitalise the space, ensuring it stays true to its position as a cultural hub. We aimed to bring colour, vibrance and greenery to the South Bank area while enforcing pedestrian safety with sturdy and durable planters. The new green features aimed to attract new visitors and diners to local restaurants, cafes, bars and exhibition venues by improving the visual identity of their surroundings.

We designed, installed and fabricated a range of custom vibrant red galvanised powder-coated steel planters in and around the OXO tower and planted over 400 plants throughout the space. Six silver birch trees were also repotted as they had begun to outgrow their pots.

New plant species include include erigeron, pittosporum, geranium and miscanthus.

To revitalise the OXO Tower area, we designed a well-rounded scheme that encompassed designing new planters, a planting refresh and a rehoming of trees with the aim of enhancing the OXO tower’s identity as vibrant and inclusive space.

These interventions have contributed to a much more vibrant and robust area. With fresh greenery and new custom planters, the identity of the OXO tower has been reinforced as a safe, bright and accessible area for pedestrians, diners and visitors.
