We are excited to announce our next SuDS event we are hosting: Spongy Schools!

Taking place at the Building Centre on the 10th December 2026, this event will bring together local authorities, utility companies, engineers and other partners in the sustainable drainage and flood management industry to explore how we can make schools and playgrounds more climate resilient. Event speakers and programme

We've got an incredible speaker line-up that features experts from across all four corners of the SuDS world. Water companies, engineers, local authorities and more will be presenting their take on SuDS from policy all the way through to design, installation and engagement.

What's going to be discussed?

The event is set to explore real-world case studies, policies and regulations, alongside a deeper look at how SuDS are designed, funded and delivered in school environments. From understanding how different types of SuDS work to exploring the design process, the day will cover the key ideas used to create greener, more resilient school spaces.

Session 1

Session 1 opens with an exclusive talk led by Ruchi Sayal from Barnet Council who will be delving into the recent residential SuDS planters installed in homes in Barnet and how they're transforming what we know about sustainable drainage in Homes.

The rest of the session covers important policy, funding and partnerships that help get SuDS in Schools schemes off the ground.

Session 2

The second session of the afternoon dives into the design and engagement aspect of SuDS in schools, exploring how bespoke SuDS designs work to bring about the most positive change for the environment and for our school children.
