Paddington™ Café

We are very proud to have been chosen to design and install a living wall that connects us to one of London's most iconic childhood characters: Paddington™, the bear from the Peruvian Amazon jungle famous for his kindness and love of marmalade.

Located at one of the busiest train stations in London, Paddington Café incorporates biophilic design, creating a calm, comfortable and relaxed environment for busy travellers who are looking for a quiet space at the station.

The living wall, which is displayed inside the Café behind a comfortable booth seating area, enhances not only the space but also represents the magical world of Paddington.

In the same way, Paddington used to find comfort in nature, the wall offers people an opportunity to find calmness in a stressful environment while they are waiting to get on a train. Furthermore, the wall allows the development of a microhabitat while generating a positive environment for adults and children.

The plants chosen include a lush tropical diversity that echos Paddington’s Peruvian background. Amongst them:  Nephrolepis exaltata, Aglaonema commutatum, Codiaeum variegatum, Monstera deliciosa and Philodendron Scandens Brasil. Some are well known for purifying the air, boosting our concentration, enhancing our well-being, eliminating toxins and regulating humidity.

Our maintenance team visits the wall regularly to ensure the plants are looking healthy, and one of the main comments they hear from customers is that they are very pleased to be sitting next to real plants.

So…Next time you are about to embark on a train adventure at Paddington Station, don’t forget to go upstairs and check up on this little green oasis! The café is open daily 9 am - 5 pm and they serve premium food sourced with a unique menu. Check out their Instagram page for more information.
