The goal of this project was to create more pleasant seating and socialising spaces by responding to changing footfall levels and government policies. With larger numbers of people spending time along the high street, the green screen solution was implemented with the aim of creating safer and more pleasant spaces to dine while also boosting local restaurants and businesses.

The project spanned the length of the high street and included 100 linear metres of modular green screens that were grown and supplied by Mobilane. Each component measured 120 x 180cm and was arranged in a sequential order along the middle of the high street, dividing pedestrian-heavy space from dining and seating space.

In order to meet the needs of the quickly evolving high street, we partnered with Mobilane to supply and integrate green screens to create subtle layout changes and support pedestrian activity. The intervention was designed to have immediate impact visually and on space utilisation.

The green screens supplied by Mobilane created immediate impact to the aesthetics and usability of the high street, creating a positive ripple effect for residents, visitors and local businesses.
