Driving greener footfall for businesses: Museum Street Hospitality Parklet

Meristem Design worked with the Central District Alliance to design, deliver and maintain a hospitality parklet on Museum Street in Camden, providing additional outdoor dining space for restaurants along the iconic Central London street. The parklet features an array of bespoke planters and a planting scheme that defines the space, introduces greenery and creates a distinct area for al fresco dining.

The parklet was designed to prioritise seating and dining activity into the existing streetscape while creating a greener and more inviting experience for visitors and diners.

Defined Dining Space

A series of 12 planters in varying sizes creates the shape and boundaries of the parklet to establish a clear space for outdoor dining

Integrated Greenery

Planting within the planters adds height and texture to the street, helping to create a more attractive and private setting for diners

Flexible Space

The parklet does not feature any fixed furniture components, making it flexible and adaptable for diners and businesses to use for events and large or small capacities

Ongoing Maintenance

We have established an ongoing maintenance plan to keep the planting looking healthy and well cared for throughout the year

The Museum Street parklet has created a dedicated outdoor dining area that brings additional activity and greenery to one of the area’s most distinctive streets.

Expanded Hospitality Space

The parklet provides restaurants in the area with additional space for al fresco dining, allowing for more customers to enjoy the street as part of their outdoor dining experience
