To replace temporary LTN infrastructure with permanent rain gardens that reduce flood risk, improve biodiversity and create safer, more welcoming streets for local communities.

The programme includes multiple sites across Newham, converting former modal filters and hardstanding areas into planted rain gardens. Works involve SuDS design, planting installation and integration with wider public realm improvements such as widened pavements, crossings and traffic calming. Many schemes also include community planting, particularly with local schools and residents.
