Putney High Street Planters

Putney High Street Planters bring greenery and safety to a busy commercial space

We worked with Wandsworth Council to design, fabricate, install and plant up a series of bespoke planters along Putney High Street as part of a £4 million fund formed by the council, Putney BID and the Government’s Future High Streets Fund. The planters are designed to enhance the look and feel of the high street for shoppers and the local community.

This scheme involved designing a range of custom planters to add visual interest to the space, support the council’s wider regeneration plans and create safer and greener places for pedestrians.

Custom Shapes

The planters were designed in both square and rounded shapes to create visual interest

Vibrant Planting Scheme

Incorporated a diverse range of colourful plants to brighten up the space

Planter Positioning

Positioned the planters in a linear structure along the edge of the pavement to create a larger barrier between pedestrians and vehicle traffic

Durable Materials

The planters were designed with materials capable of withstanding high amounts of daily footfall and vehicle traffic

The introduction of the planters created a range of benefits along Putney high street that enhance its visual appeal, user experience and environmental quality.

Pedestrian Safety

The positioning of the planters creates a more defined barrier between pedestrians and the road, enhancing the safety of all people in the space

The additional planting helps filter out particulates and contributes to cleaner air
